Association Program of Work Award
 

PURPOSE: To recognize individual associations for the development and execution of programs of work.

CRITERIA: The recognition will be presented to all associations receiving a minimum of 85 points on their program-of-work evaluations. The association will be evaluated on communications, membership development, awards/recognition programs, participation in state and national conferences, professional development activities, committee development, membership involvement, and outreach activities to other organizations and groups.

ELIGIBILITY: This recognition is presented to associations that plan, develop, and execute programs of work. Programs of work for the current or immediate past year may be nominated. Primary officers (e.g., president, president-elect, vice president, secretary, treasurer) of the association must be members of the national Marketing Education Association and/or the Marketing Education Division of the American Vocational Association at the time the nomination dossier is submitted.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES: The association must submit the following materials in its Nomination Dossier.

  1. The Association Program of Work Evaluation Form (click for downloadable file in Word) becomes page of the Nomination Dossier.
  2. The Association printed program of work for the year becomes page 2 (may include more than one page).
  3. Support descriptions of activities and results become pages 3-9. This should include no more than one page each, in seven sections.
    • Section A (page 3): Communications
    • Section B (page 4): Membership Development/Membership Support Services
    • Section C (page 5): Awards/Recognition Programs
    • Section D (page 6): Association Representation and Involvement in State and National Conferences
    • Section E (page 7): Professional Development Activities
    • Section F (page 8): Committee Development and Membership Involvement
    • Section G (page 9): Outreach Activities to Other Organizations and Groups
  4. A maximum of 10 pages can be used to show examples of the completion of program of work projects. Suggested items include newsletters, promotion/information materials, newspaper articles/news releases.
  5. The last page of the Nomination Dossier should be a Public Relations and Recognition Information Form (click for downloadable form in Word).

APPLICATION GUIDELINES: All materials should be typed. Ten copies of the completed materials on three-hole-drilled paper should be submitted. Materials should not be submitted in bound notebooks and all materials must be submitted simultaneously as a completed package. Materials in other formats will not be considered. A $20 application fee is due at the same time nomination materials are submitted. Checks or money orders should be made payable to the Marketing Education Association. Materials submitted without the application fee will not be considered. Nomination materials should be sent to:

DEADLINE: All Association Program of Work Award Nomination Dossiers must be received in the MEA office by June 1. Award recipients may choose to have the award presented during the MEA Conference or during the ACTE Convention in December.
