Marketing Educators’ Journal (MEJ) |
| |
The Marketing Educators’ Journal (MEJ) is the official refereed electronic publication of the national Marketing Education Association (MEA). Manuscripts submitted for consideration should focus on marketing education philosophy, theory, or practice and matters affecting the membership of MEA. Comprehensive reviews of literature and reports of research and methodology will be considered. All articles should relate to current issues, cite appropriate literature, and have direct implications for marketing educators. Manuscripts should not have been published or be under current consideration for publication by another journal. |

Publication Style |
The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, Fourth Edition (1994), is the standard of style for MEJ. Manuscripts not adhering to that style manual will be returned to the author(s) without review. |

Manuscript Submission |
| |
Submission of manuscripts should be mailed to the editor. Authors must submit a package containing the following: |
- five double-spaced copies of the manuscript without the author’s name or affiliation;
- a separate title page with the manuscript title and name, title, complete address, telephone number, fax number, and e-mail address of each author;
- a separate abstract of the manuscript, succinctly describing the contents of the manuscript in no more than 960 characters and spaces;
- a diskette (3 1/2") containing a single word processor file of the title page, abstract, and manuscript. Diskettes become the property of MEJ and will not be returned. The file should be in either Word for Windows or WordPerfect.

Tables, Charts and Figures |
| |
Tables, charts, and figures should provide only information essential to understanding the article. Reporting the same information in both text and tables should be avoided. In the preparation of tables, charts, and figures APA guidelines should be followed, including a notation of where in the text the table, chart or figure should appear. Tables, charts and figures should be prepared as a part of the word processing file. When that is not possible, the author is responsible for providing a typed, camera-read copy of each table, chart, or figure on a separate 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of white paper. Tables, charts, and figures should not be placed on oversized or fold-out sheets. The MEJ does not assess page costs; however, if the manuscript is accepted, the author(s) may be asked to pay the preparation costs of complex tables, charts, and figures. |

Review and Publication |
| |
The review process for the Marketing Educators’ Journal normally requires six to twelve weeks for the first round. The entire review process from submission to final acceptance or rejection may require a much longer period of time. The Editor will notify authors as each stage of the review process is completed. The decision of the reviewers will be either to: |
- accept (publish as submitted, very minor editorial revisions may be needed);
- accept, with minor revisions (revisions are reviewed by editor, not resubmitted to review panel);
- reject, invite major revision and re-submission (fundamental changes are needed and the revised manuscript will go back to the same reviewers for reconsideration);
- reject the manuscript for MEJ (the manuscript will not be considered again).
| The manuscript review process for MEJ is a "blind" peer review. The reviewers are not informed of the identity of the author(s) and the author(s) will not be informed of the identity of the reviewers. The reviewers of the manuscript are recognized scholars with appropriate professional and educational preparation and are selected for specific expertise relative to the topic of the manuscript. The final acceptance rate for MEJ is only about one-half. |
