Communications Committee
 
Committee Responsibilities: The Communications Committee shall be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising a communications program that will keep members informed of issues and activities within MEA and in Marketing Education. Specific responsibilities are as follows:
  1. MEAdvocate: Establish policies and procedures, solicit and write articles, and publish and distribute quarterly issues of the MEAdvocate.
  2. MEA Internet Site: Maintain and publicize an Internet website accessible by members and non-members as a primary information resource for Marketing Education.
  3. Develop a cadre of "information experts" for the Association in responding to issues and questions.
  4. Increase the quantity and quality of communications with members and prospective members.
  5. Increase the use of technology (Internet, email, fax) for member communications and professional information.
  6. Submit a written report of committee activities for each meeting of the MEA Board of Directors.
Committee Guidelines: Each committee shall consist of the individual serving as Board Liaison, the committee Chair, and committee members. The Board Liaison may be appointed as Chair. The Chair and members of each committee are appointed by the MEA President with the approval of the Board of Directors. Chairs are appointed to a two-year term consistent with the term of office for the President. A minimum of six members are appointed to each committee to serve staggered three-year terms. Members and the Chair may be appointed to consecutive terms. All committee members must be members of MEA. When filling committee positions consideration should be given for representation from various regions of the United States as well as for employment classifications such as secondary, post-secondary, and teacher education.
