Public Relations Committee
 
Committee Responsibilities: The Public Relations Committee shall be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the public relations program of the Association including relationships with our business partners and outreach activities including supporting resources. Specific responsibilities are as follows:
  1. Identify businesses and business associations that are important to the growth and enhancement of Marketing Education and MEA for potential business partnerships.
  2. Reestablish the National Council for Business and Marketing Executives (NCBME) to serve as an advisory and leadership group for creating business partnerships.
  3. Create partnership agreements with individual businesses and business associations to support specific strategic plan activities of MEA.
  4. Develop an annual outreach plan that includes coordinated national, state, and local activities with supporting resources (publications, promotional and image materials, training).
  5. Work with the MEA Foundation to increase resources available for Marketing Education Outreach activities.
  6. Submit a written report of committee activities for each meeting of the MEA Board of Directors
Committee Guidelines: Each committee shall consist of the individual serving as Board Liaison, the committee Chair, and committee members. The Board Liaison may be appointed as Chair. The Chair and members of each committee are appointed by the MEA President with the approval of the Board of Directors. Chairs are appointed to a two-year term consistent with the term of office for the President. A minimum of six members are appointed to each committee to serve staggered three-year terms. Members and the Chair may be appointed to consecutive terms. All committee members must be members of MEA. When filling committee positions consideration should be given for representation from various regions of the United States as well as for employment classifications such as secondary, post-secondary, and teacher education.
