Research Committee
(MEA/ME-ACTE Joint Committee)
 
Committee Responsibilities: The Research Committee shall be responsible for planning, promoting, coordinating, supervising, and soliciting sponsorships for the joint research program of ME-ACTE and MEA including the recognition of outstanding research achievements by marketing education professionals. Specific responsibilities are as follows:
  1. Coordinate and supervise the ME-ACTE/MEA Research Program.
  2. Continuously review and update all research guidelines.
  3. Plan and facilitate research dissemination sessions at the summer MEA Conference and at the ACTE Conference in December of each year.
  4. Coordinate and conduct the review process for the "Neal E. Vivian Research Award."
  5. Maintain existing sponsors and solicit new sponsors for the ME-ACTE/MEA Research Program.
  6. Plan and coordinate the publication of research efforts in Marketing Education with the ME-ACTE/MEA joint Editorial and Publications Committee.
  7. Prepare "Committee Activity Reports" for the MEA Board for their meeting at the MEA Summer Conference and for the ME Division meetings at the ACTE Conference in December of each year.

Membership Guidelines: The Chair of each committee is appointed by the President of MEA, and the Vice President of the ME-ACTE, to a three-year term. A total of nine (9) members are appointed for staggered terms to each committee by the Chair of each committee with the approval of the President of MEA and the Vice President of ME-ACTE in consultation with the ME-ACTE Policy and Planning Committee. Members and the Chair can be re-appointed to successive terms. When filling committee positions consideration should be given for representation from various regions of the United States as well as for employment classifications such as secondary, post-secondary, and teacher education. Committee members must be members of both the ME Division of ACTE and MEA at the time of appointment. Each committee shall also include a member who will act as a liaison with the MEA Board, who will be appointed by the MEA Board, and a member who will act as a liaison with the ME-ACTE, who will be appointed by the ME-ACTE Policy and Planning Committee.
