State Relationships Committee
 
Committee Responsibilities: The State Relationships Committee shall be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising activities that will promote a positive and mutually supportive relationship between MEA and each state association. Specific responsibilities include the following:
  1. Create a direct communications link with each state Marketing Education association through a state-level liaison.
  2. Work with the state-level liaison to identify the state association officers in each state and work with the MEA webmaster to continually update this information on the MEA web site.
  3. Enhance the effectiveness of State Marketing Education associations by supporting information exchange, cooperative programming, and shared services and resources.
  4. Support state and local leadership in Marketing Education by promoting leadership development activities and resources and recognizing effective leadership.
  5. Submit a written report of committee activities for each meeting of the MEA Board of Directors.
Committee Guidelines: Each committee shall consist of the individual serving as Board Liaison, the committee Chair, and committee members. The Board Liaison may be appointed as Chair. The Chair and members of each committee are appointed by the MEA President with the approval of the Board of Directors. Chairs are appointed to a two-year term consistent with the term of office for the President. A minimum of six members are appointed to each committee to serve staggered three-year terms. Members and the Chair may be appointed to consecutive terms. All committee members must be members of MEA. When filling committee positions consideration should be given for representation from various regions of the United States as well as for employment classifications such as secondary, post-secondary, and teacher education.
